Google KPI Key stats

All website visitor numbers - those from search, direct URL visits and links from other sites - directories, socials etc

An important SEO metric - how many visitors are finding you from Google search

The average number of pages viewed during each session.

The average length of each session. As calculated by dividing the total length of time visitors spent visiting your website by the total number of sessions.

At-a-glance percentage showing proportion of mobile device use. A more detailed breakdown can be found further down your webKPI report

The percentage of visitors to your website who navigate away from the site after viewing only one page. This could be an indicator that the visitor was not particularly interested in your website, although sometimes it’s because they have the information need (like your telephone number)

A snapshot to see if your web hosting server had any downtime. Most hosting providers offer 99% plus uptime, so if you’re consistently seeing lower figures - it could be time to ask why?

webKPI Traffic Analysis

Tracking over a 13 month period enables you to compare like for like months in one chart. Almost all business to business websites have some form of cyclical variation - lower in December with Christmas holiday or February where there are fewer work days in the month.

webKPI enables you to toggle off the other numbers so you can view a graph showing only visitors from search. The graph will illustrate if your website visitor numbers have been steadily rising, remain static or even falling.

If your numbers are falling, this could provide you with a good opportunity to ask your web partner why before it’s too late

Google KPI Key stats

New domains can take longer for Google to index, so being able to track pages enables you to keep up to date with progress (and manage expectations of clients or personnel).

Here is an indexed example of a new domain

Tracking site indexing can provide an earl(ier) warning to possible site hacking. Sometimes you can see a dramatic spike in Google’s indexing which prompts you to ask Why?

6. Keyword Ranking

Keyword Snapshot of the position of your site for a keyword or phrase in Google’s organic search results. It shows the Average position across the previous and current months as well as the best position. Keyword rankings can fluctuate significantly over a short period of time.

The “movement” column enables you to see the difference in the average position between last month and present month.

You may wish to add different type of keywords

  • Brand - name of your company or product

  • Personnel - name of key people in your organsation / across your website

  • Service type - arguably the most useful - words and phrases that customers are typing to find out about a service or product

  • Location - adding a location within the key phrase.

You can also set a keyword search for a specific geographic area - no point look at search results across the whole of the UK if you’re only interested in the great and good of Grimsby.

We presently show Desktop results but will be adding Mobile functionality here in the future.

Position does not include Sponsored links (AdWords) and can vary geographically and well as from computer to computer. The best way to replicate a clean search is in incognito mode in your browser.
